Will Staple
The sensuality and eroticism in Will's poetry is so
subtle that often the lips have dried before the reader realizes the
kiss. Will lives in a world where romance balances on ice and where
the human relationship is as fragile as a poet's heart. Internationally
recognized for his insight into the human condition, Will's work has
been translated into Russian, German, and Italian. He has received the
Engpol Median International Award for a collection of books published
between 1991 and 1999, and read from the coffeehouses of San Francisco
to the Shakespeare & Company in Paris. In 2000, Will was a
featured reader at the Internazionale Percorsi Poesia Festival in Locarno,
Switzerland. Will says, "Poets...are thieves who give everything
away, guilty of both miracles and wondrous crimes - liars who always
tell the truth."
